If You Love Me
TEXT: Mark Ryman (© 2005) from John 14:15-21
TUNE: “
Quietude,” by Harold Green (1871-1930).

If you love me, keep my
Commandments, dear Friend.
And I’ll ask my Father
The Spirit to send.

He will be your Helper
And abide with you,
Dwelling in you always
—God’s Spirit is true.

Just a little longer,
They’ll see me no more.
Yet, Friends, you will see me
—More than heretofore.

I live and you too will
Live eternally.
I live in my Father;
You will live in me.

You have my commandments;
Keep them to the end.
This is how you love me
And show you’re my Friend.

Oh, the one who loves me
Will be loved by him
Who sent me to show love
And reveal I AM.
